The Expatriate Archive Centre
The Expatriate Archive Centre (EAC) collects expatriate life stories from all over the world. It facilitates high-quality research that promotes and enhances a greater understanding of expatriate life.
The collection includes letters, diaries, blogs, photos, videos, and other documents of everyday life abroad from the late 19th century to the present. The EAC defines an expatriate as someone who lives temporarily in a country other than their ‘home’ country. The EAC is also interested in repatriation, Third Culture Kids, and other roles and situations adjacent to expat life. The most recent initiatives focus on collecting expats' digital lives: blog posts, tweets, illustrations, etc. The EAC is located in the Netherlands but its outreach is global. The EAC is here to serve researchers around the world!
