The Hague: a good environment for internationals – participate!

Published

The Hague was recently ranked ninth best city to live and work for expatriates worldwide. The report by InterNations evaluates over 20 different factors to determine the most expat-friendly cities. The Hague scores well on the opportunities available for internationals on the local job market, work-life balance, quality of life, public safety, health and environment.

This report is not the only one reflecting that internationals enjoy The Hague:

  • ECA ranked The Hague third best city for European expats in terms of liveability.
  • The Netherlands is ranked sixth in the Global Talent Competitiveness Index for its ability to enable, attract, grow, and retain talent on a global scale.
  • Numbeo's Quality of Life Index shows The Hague as the sixth best city to live in within Western Europe, scoring high in the climate index. The residents enjoy moderate temperatures and rarely endure major weather conditions – even though The Hague has its fair share of rain and wind, due to our location near the sea!

Participate

These rankings show that The Hague is a great city for internationals to settle. However, there are always opportunities to improve. The municipality likes to stimulate participation of The Hague’s international community. In the past, the international community has been asked to weigh in on subjects such as housing, neighbourhood experiences and urban developments  (such as the Central Innovation District and the International Zone).
