NS Flex
As of September this year, NS has launched a new season ticket: the Flex Season Ticket. NS Flex lets you pick the discount that suits you best this month. If you want, you can change your preferred discount every month. So if you do not travel during summer break, for example, you can deactivate your season ticket for a month. Also, there is no need to top the balance on your card. The NS will send you your travel costs at the end of the month, along with your Season Ticket.
OV card
If you buy one of these season tickets, you will need to load it onto your OV card. If you do not have an OV card yet, you will receive a personal one from the NS. If you already have one, you can simply load it onto your card at one of the loading devices throughout the country. You can find these devices at stations, in some buses, in supermarkets and newsagents. Find a loading device near you here.
